YeleGroup: 16 Guiding Principles
You’ve been brought here for a purpose, find it and try to complete it at the best of your ability.
Be ready to be criticised, misunderstood and in certain ways hate by your own people.
Do not explain, do not complain - just plan and execute.
While planning remember to plan for a minimum of 10 years, 20 years being a good start. However make sure to measure execution every 2 weeks.
Applying the DREAM framework is how great things get done.
The most important part of it is the D: Decision.
What will keep you going is the E: Elimination. Always separate temporary distractions and fake wins from real victories.
You’re going to spend a urge amount of time with the people you’re bringing on - choose carefully.
Collaboration, debate, obsession and a good level of calmness and urgency are how real progress are made.
Every person joining this journey have their own motivation and interest - find out and always make sure they are aligned with our mission or let them go immediately. Otherwise, it will cost you.
Audacious and bold ideas are what motivate talented people - they get bored when it’s too easy.
Aside from some really deep technical work, degrees & experience means nothing - recruit people with an insane desire to learn and get things done. The rest will take care of itself.
Only focus on outcomes, having a sophisticated process is not that a deal. Always fight bullshit, politics and bureaucracy, they’re our biggest ennemis.
Be careful with how you compensate people. It can be a superpower or a threat to your team happiness.
Failure is inevitable. If you’re not failing sometimes it’s means you’re not growing. Embrace it. Learn from it. Get up and keep going.
By the end of the race you’re going to win, if you don’t then it’s not the end.
